Victor Davis Hanson Questions Immigrants Who Criticize America
Original: Victor Davis Hanson: They Fled Failed Countries—Just to Criticize America?
Commentator Victor Davis Hanson argues that people who left failing countries should not criticize the United States after arriving there. The remarks, presented in a recent talk, frame immigration around gratitude to the host country and are drawing strong reactions online, with supporters praising the argument and critics calling it unfair to immigrants who raise legitimate concerns about American life.
Why now: The commentary taps into the ongoing heated political debate over immigration and assimilation in the United States.
