NASA insourcing decision leads to Amentum layoffs at Kennedy Space Center
Original: NASA insourcing triggers Amentum layoffs at Kennedy Space Center
NASA's decision to bring work in-house at Kennedy Space Center is leading to layoffs at Amentum, the contractor that had been performing those roles. The move means contractor employees in Florida will lose their jobs as NASA shifts the functions to its own federal workforce. The cuts add to uncertainty for space-coast workers whose employment has long depended on NASA contracting arrangements.
Why now: A newly announced NASA insourcing decision is causing immediate job losses at a major contractor, affecting local workers.
