Putin accused of planning to trigger new refugee wave

Original: moskau

German outlet WELT reports that Vladimir Putin aims to make urban areas in Ukraine 'uninhabitable' in order to trigger a new wave of refugees toward Europe. The remarks are drawing attention in Germany, where debate over support for Ukraine and the consequences of Russian strikes on cities remains highly charged.

Why now: Fears that Russia's strategy of attacking Ukrainian cities could displace millions more people across Europe are resurfacing.
