Russian drones hit Ukrainian data centers through air defense gaps
Original: 📰 Russian drones strike Ukraine’s data centers by exploiting air defense gaps Russian attacks on Internet, phone service
Russian drones have struck data centers in Ukraine, taking aim at the country's internet and phone infrastructure by exploiting gaps in air defenses. The attacks disrupt communications services and are seen as a threat to Ukraine's wartime economy, which depends on connectivity for government, business and military operations. The strikes add to a broader pattern of Russian targeting of Ukrainian critical infrastructure.
Why now: The targeting of digital infrastructure rather than energy systems marks an escalation people are reacting to.
