The Green party has abandoned its longstanding opposition to nuclear power, according to a Guardian report. The shift marks a significant reversal in the party's energy policy, ending decades of resistance to atomic energy. The move is drawing attention from observers of UK environmental politics, who see it as a notable change in the debate over how Britain should decarbonise its electricity supply.
Why now: A historically anti-nuclear party reversing its core energy policy is a significant political shift in the UK environment debate.
