US reportedly clears Israel to strike Iran-backed groups in Iraq
Original: JUST IN — The United States has reportedly given Israel the green light to strike Iranian-backed groups in Iraq.
The United States has reportedly given Israel permission to carry out strikes against Iranian-backed armed groups in Iraq, according to a report circulating on social media. If confirmed, the move would significantly widen the scope of Israeli military operations against Tehran's allies beyond Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, and could draw Iraq deeper into the regional confrontation. No official confirmation from Washington or Jerusalem has been reported so far.
Why now: Reports of US approval for Israeli strikes inside Iraq suggest a major escalation of the regional conflict
