Lee Child blocked a third Tom Cruise Reacher film
Original: Lee Child vetoed a third Tom Cruise Reacher movie
Author Lee Child has vetoed plans for a third Jack Reacher movie starring Tom Cruise, according to IMDb. The move ends the film series that began with Jack Reacher in 2012 and Never Go Back in 2016, after which the character was recast for television with Alan Ritchson taking the role on Amazon's hit series.
Why now: The Reacher franchise is hugely popular right now thanks to the successful TV reboot, reviving debate over the Cruise casting fans long criticised.
