A social media user in India has accused a news channel of spreading misinformation about a woman's family background. The user claims the woman never said her family supports the Bharatiya Janata Party, but rather that her father serves in the armed forces and threw her out of the house for being, in his view, anti-national. The accusation of fabricated reporting has drawn attention amid ongoing tensions between Indian media outlets and critics who accuse them of distorting such stories.
