Original: Ukraine Uses Balloons to Launch Drones Deep Into Russian Territory
Ukraine is using balloons to launch drones deep into Russian territory, according to reports circulating widely online. The method allows drones to conserve fuel and reach targets hundreds of kilometres from the front line, adding to Kyiv's growing arsenal of long-range strike options against Russian infrastructure. Commentators are calling it a low-cost innovation in drone warfare.
Why now: News of an apparently novel, low-cost tactic in the Ukraine war is drawing attention as long-range strikes intensify.
