SpaceX Mission Could Send Whisky Into Orbit for Five Years
Original: A SpaceX Mission Could Send Whisky Into Orbit for 5 Years
A SpaceX flight could carry whisky into orbit for a five-year stay in space. The plan would test how the spirit ages in microgravity and radiation compared with barrels on Earth, continuing earlier space-ageing experiments. The idea has drawn attention for blending commercial spaceflight with an unusual consumer product.
Why now: News that a SpaceX mission might age whisky in orbit combines spaceflight interest with an eye-catching consumer angle.
