Original: BMC scraps allotment of 5 school plots in Mumbai to private players
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has withdrawn the allotment of five school plots in Mumbai that had been given to private players. The decision reverses the earlier handover of public education land, a move likely to reignite debate over the use of civic school property and the role of private entities in public education in the city.
Why now: The reversal affects public school land in Mumbai, raising questions about transparency and privatisation of civic assets.
