Original: US not removing diplomats from Kyiv amid Russian threats, Rubio says
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says American diplomats will not be withdrawn from Kyiv, despite Russian threats against the Ukrainian capital. The announcement signals that Washington intends to maintain its diplomatic presence in Ukraine even as security concerns persist, and it is drawing attention amid heightened tensions between Russia and the West over the ongoing war.
Why now: Russian threats against Kyiv have raised questions about the safety of Western diplomatic staff, making the US decision to stay noteworthy.
