A displaced parent is appealing for donations to buy plastic coverings to protect the family's tent from rain, saying last winter the tent flooded and the cold was unbearable for the children. With winter approaching again, the family fears repeating that experience. Small online communities are sharing and supporting the appeal.
Why now: Displaced families are bracing for harsh winter conditions, and crowdfunding appeals like this one are circulating as people try to help.
