Art lovers are sharing Corneille de Lyon's 'Portrait of a Woman' as picture of the day in connection with Houston's fine arts scene. The 16th-century painter, of Dutch origin working in France, left few biographical records but was evidently fashionable, with copies of his works documented. His children were also painters, and his daughter became the better known.
Why now: An art enthusiast highlighted the Renaissance portrait as picture of the day, drawing attention to this little-known painter.
