Georgia election board seeks DOJ help before midterms

Original: Georgia’s GOP-led election board asks for DOJ ‘intervention’ ahead of midterm elections https:// lemmy.world/post/527731

Georgia's Republican-led State Election Board has asked the Department of Justice to intervene ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. The request, reported in US political news, is drawing attention because federal involvement in a swing state's election administration so close to voting is unusual. Commenters are debating whether the move signals concerns over election integrity or an attempt to influence how the state's election rules are enforced.

Why now: Federal intervention in a key swing state's election administration shortly before midterms is politically charged
