Yemen government forces say they have recaptured Mocha from Houthis
Original: Yemen government forces report recapture of Mocha from Houthis
Yemen's government forces say they have recaptured the Red Sea port city of Mocha from the Houthi movement. The claim comes amid ongoing fighting along Yemen's western coast, where control of ports and coastal towns has been a key objective. There has been no immediate confirmation of the development from the Houthis, and the extent of the government's control over the city remains to be verified.
Why now: Mocha is a strategically important Red Sea port, so reported shifts in control of the city draw immediate attention amid Yemen's war.
