An artist is using tatreez, the traditional Palestinian embroidery form, to document Israeli forced evacuation maps of Gaza, stitching memories of her home and experiences of the war into textile work. Commenters sharing the story frame it as cultural preservation amid the conflict and displacement, with hashtags calling for a ceasefire and solidarity with Palestinians.
Why now: Ongoing war in Gaza keeps attention on art and testimony documenting Palestinian displacement.
