Lula eyes Camilo Santana for 2026 campaign coordination

Original: camilo santana

President Lula reportedly wants Camilo Santana, Minister of Education and former Ceará governor, to coordinate his re-election campaign, working with a team linked to Jerônimo Rodrigues. The move comes as the PT searches for answers after Lula's candidates' poor showing in recent municipal elections, with party figures blaming strategist Sidônio Palmeira for the defeat and demanding a change of direction.

Why now: Internal PT disputes over who is to blame for the electoral setback and who should lead Lula's 2026 campaign are intensifying.
