Israel says Hamas plotting attack ahead of election

Original: hamas

Israeli security agency Shin Bet says Hamas is preparing an attack in Israel ahead of the country's upcoming elections, drawing comparisons to October 7. Italian and international outlets are covering the warning alongside election reporting and anniversary coverage three years after the assault. Separately, the US sanctioned three individuals and two charities over alleged Hamas financing.

Why now: Shin Bet's warning of an imminent Hamas-planned attack just before Israel's election is new security news.
