Original: Rooney: Man City Can Keep Their Titles, But Relegate Them! | Stick to United EP 7
Wayne Rooney has weighed in on the debate over Manchester City's financial charges, arguing that the club could be allowed to keep the titles won during the period under investigation but should face relegation as punishment. The comments came on his football discussion show, where he stressed accountability for rule-breaking while stopping short of demanding the stripping of honours.
Why now: The ongoing hearing over Manchester City's alleged financial rule breaches has reignited debate about what punishment, including possible relegation, the club should face.
