ICC Delays World Club Championship After Pushback from Cricket's Big Three

Original: ICC Delays World Club Championship Plans Following Resistance from Cricket’s Big Three

The International Cricket Council has postponed its plans for a World Club Championship after resistance from the boards of India, England and Australia, the sport's most influential cricket nations. The proposed event, intended to bring together top domestic clubs or franchises from around the world, will not move forward on its original timeline as the ICC reassesses the format and support among key members.

Why now: The ICC has just announced the delay, and the apparent resistance from cricket's most powerful boards raises questions about the future of a major new global competition.
