Traveler says SSD vanished after TSA laptop inspection
Original: Traveling Developer's SSD Vanishes After TSA Inspects Laptop
A software developer who travels frequently says a solid-state drive disappeared from his laptop bag after Transportation Security Administration officers inspected his laptop at a US airport. He recounted the incident publicly and says he filed a complaint with the TSA. Other travelers have responded with their own claims of missing items after security checks and advice on keeping valuables in view during screenings.
Why now: Travelers widely worry about theft during airport security inspections, so an account of a missing drive resonates.
