Moscow's Tverskoy Court has officially ruled that 13 Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian nationalist figures, along with five organisations, aided Nazi Germany, framing the verdict as protecting Russia's national interests. The judgment marks another step in Russia's historical-political confrontation with the Baltic states, whose governments are among Kyiv's staunchest supporters and regularly condemn Soviet and Russian narratives about the Second World War.

Why now: The ruling escalates Russia's ongoing political and historical feud with the Baltic states amid the Ukraine war.
