Trump publishes Senator Cotton's phone number in daylight saving dispute
Original: Trump posts Sen. Tom Cotton’s phone number over dispute about daylight saving time bill
President Trump publicly posted the personal phone number of Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton amid a disagreement over legislation on daylight saving time. The extraordinary move against a fellow Republican has drawn attention to the feud between the two, with the daylight saving bill the apparent trigger for the clash. Posting a private number publicly is widely seen as a hostile act, and the episode has sparked reaction about Trump's treatment of members of his own party.
Why now: The unusual public attack by a president on a sitting senator from his own party is a striking political story.
