NFL suspends two officials over conduct toward players
Original: NFL suspends 2 officials for conduct toward Cardinals’ Trey McBride, Vikings’ Eric Wilson - The Athletic
The NFL has suspended two game officials over their conduct toward Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride and Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson, according to The Athletic. The league's decision to discipline referees, rather than players, is drawing attention, as disciplinary action against officials is rare and details of the conduct have not been fully laid out publicly.
Why now: Suspensions of NFL officials are highly unusual, making the disciplinary action toward referees newsworthy.
