A6 and N50 to close simultaneously despite council's delay request
Original: a6
The municipality asked for the planned closures of the A6 and N50 motorways to be postponed, but Rijkswaterstaat is going ahead with shutting both roads at the same time, telling local officials 'we can't do otherwise'. Drivers in the region face simultaneous detours on two major routes, and the council's request for a delay has been rejected. The decision is drawing attention because of the expected traffic disruption for commuters and freight.
Why now: Residents and drivers are reacting to the news that two key motorways will close at once despite local objections.
