A new write-up documents an effort to bring back iChat's audio and video conferencing features, revisiting Apple's classic Mac messaging app that disappeared from macOS years ago. The piece walks through reviving the old audio and video calling functionality, and it has drawn attention from readers nostalgic for Apple's early chat client and curious about how its conferencing stack worked.
Why now: Nostalgia for classic Apple software and technical curiosity about reviving discontinued iChat features is driving interest.
