Brewers deny closer Miller was tipping pitches
Original: Was Miller tipping pitches? Closer -- and Brewers' skipper -- both say no
Milwaukee Brewers closer Trevor Miller faced questions over whether he was tipping pitches, with both the reliever and the team's manager firmly rejecting the suggestion. The accusation, common in baseball when opposing hitters seem to know what's coming, was shut down by pitcher and skipper alike, leaving the matter as a straightforward denial from the club.
Why now: Teams and fans are watching closely for any sign of pitch-tipping as postseason stakes raise scrutiny of elite relievers.
