Original: Wood Tape (2004) http://gamesbyemail.com/WoodTape/Default.htm # HackerNews # Tech # Gaming
An old browser game called Wood Tape, released in 2004 and hosted on the site Games by Email, is being shared again online. It is a small title from the early era of play-by-email web gaming, and its renewed attention appears to be nostalgic interest in simple, quirky games from that period. Little recent coverage or commentary exists beyond the link being circulated.
Why now: Nostalgia and curiosity about obscure early-2000s web games have prompted people to share the link again.
