North Carolina joins 25 states urging Congress to regulate AI
Original: North Carolina joins 25 states in urging Congress for AI regulation
North Carolina has joined a coalition of 25 states calling on Congress to pass federal regulations on artificial intelligence. The push reflects growing concern among state governments that AI is developing faster than existing laws can handle, and that only national legislation can provide consistent protections on privacy, safety and accountability.
Why now: States are mobilizing over the absence of any comprehensive federal AI law, making the coalition newsworthy.
