Congress Set to Reconvene After Midterms
Members of the US Congress are preparing to return to Washington following the midterm elections. The lame-duck session will address government funding deadlines and outstanding legislative business before the new Congress is seated in January. The session will be shaped by the election results, which determine party control going into next year.
Why now: US midterm elections have just concluded, drawing attention to what the outgoing Congress will do before handing over.
