Mother Jones reports on the US Office of Refugee Resettlement under the Trump administration, detailing how ICE actions under figures like Stephen Miller have separated children from families and placed minors in foster care ahead of deportations. A parent's cry of "You kidnapped my son" captures the anger of families affected by these policies, renewing debate over family separations and the treatment of migrant children.

Why now: Renewed scrutiny of US immigration policy and family separations under Trump and Stephen Miller is drawing public outrage.
