Perseverance zeroes in on a microbreccia rock on Mars

Original: The microbreccia rock # Perseverance has been staring at for the past several sols. One of a series of closeup focusing

NASA's Perseverance rover has spent several Martian days examining a microbreccia rock on Mars, capturing closeup images with its SHERLOC_WATSON camera at submillimeter detail. The images, taken around Sol 1999 at RMC 91.0970 and processed by space enthusiasts, show fine-grained fragments that hint at the rock's history of being broken and reassembled.

Why now: Space enthusiasts are following Perseverance's ongoing geological investigations at Jezero Crater and sharing newly processed images of the rock.
