Angus Taylor vows largest migration cut in Australia's history

Original: Angus Taylor vows biggest cut to migration in Australia’s history, slashing 650,000 temporary visas

Opposition frontbencher Angus Taylor has pledged the biggest reduction to migration in Australia's history, promising to slash 650,000 temporary visas if his side wins office. The pledge targets temporary skilled workers, students and other visa holders, and is set to inflame debate over housing pressures, labour shortages and the size of the migration program ahead of the next federal election.

Why now: Migration is a hot political issue in Australia, and a record pledge to cut temporary visas will fuel election debate over housing and jobs.
