East Africa conflict forces refugees to flee once again
Original: As conflict threatens East Africa, refugees find themselves running again
Renewed conflict in East Africa is displacing people who had already sought safety in neighbouring countries, sending refugees on the move a second or third time. Sudanese refugees in particular are being uprooted again as fighting spreads, straining camps and aid operations across the region and raising concerns about a widening humanitarian crisis.
Why now: Ongoing fighting in Sudan and its spillover into neighbouring countries is forcing already displaced people to flee again, drawing fresh attention to the regional humanitarian emergency.
