FBI Director Kash Patel has commissioned a classified report examining alleged past shortcomings at the bureau, including its handling of the Russia investigation and the special counsel probes. Current and former officials describe the effort as the Trump administration's latest attempt to rewrite history in the president's favor. Critics say the review politicises the FBI, while supporters argue accountability for past misconduct is overdue.
