Ukraine's UN envoy slams UN rights chief over muted Russia remarks
Original: Who killed them, Mr. @volker_turk ? Whoever writes your tweets for you wouldn’t dare to say “Russia”? Pitiful!
Ukraine's ambassador to the United Nations, Sergiy Kyslytsya, publicly accused UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Türk of failing to name Russia when condemning deadly attacks. In a sharp post, he asked who killed the victims and said the commissioner's team would not 'dare' to say the word Russia, calling the wording pitiful. The exchange reflects growing Kyiv frustration with international bodies' cautious language on Russian strikes.
Why now: Ukraine is angry that UN officials condemn attacks on civilians without explicitly blaming Russia.
