Anil Dash calls for the end of the word 'unalive'
Original: Fuck yeah! We are going to kill “unalive” - Anil Dash https:// anildash.com/2026/10/06/kill-u nalive/ https://www. anild
Tech writer Anil Dash has published a piece urging people to stop using the word 'unalive', the euphemism widely adopted on social media to dodge platform moderation around death and suicide. His call is being shared approvingly online, with commenters celebrating a pushback against sanitised language that critics say obscures serious topics.
Why now: The post is circulating because Dash's argument taps into growing frustration with algorithm-driven euphemisms replacing plain speech online.
