NBA 2K25 servers to shut down December 31, killing story mode
Original: NBA 2K25 servers to shut down on December 31, single-player story mode will become unplayable
2K will switch off NBA 2K25's online servers on December 31, and the shutdown will also make the game's single-player story mode unplayable. Players are criticizing the move, as it means a paid game will lose major functionality less than a year and a half after release, renewing debate over always-online requirements and game preservation.
Why now: The end-of-year shutdown deadline means players are about to lose access to a game they paid for, sparking frustration.
