Russell Brand arrived at Southwark Crown Court in London for a hearing ahead of his rape trial. The comedian and actor faces serious sexual offence charges and is due to stand trial later. The court appearance drew media attention as proceedings move forward in the case, which stems from allegations made public in 2023.

Why now: A high-profile celebrity court hearing on serious criminal charges is naturally drawing wide public and media attention.
