Justice Alito 'amused and puzzled' by false retirement report
US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has responded to a false report claiming he was retiring from the bench, saying he was 'amused and puzzled' by the claim. There is no indication the justice plans to step down, and his statement firmly shut down the speculation.
Why now: Any rumour about a Supreme Court retirement draws intense attention given its potential to reshape the court's balance.
