Multiple preventable crises blamed on capitalism
Original: Nice planet you got there. Be a shame if multiple, obvious, preventable, longstanding crises assailed it. # capitalism #
A sarcastic commentary circulating online argues that the planet is being assailed by multiple obvious, preventable, longstanding crises, listing climate change, artificial intelligence, fascism, vaccine misinformation, infectious diseases, cancer, nuclear risk and the Anthropocene, and attributing them to capitalism. The framing presents these as systemic failures rather than accidents, and the post is drawing engagement from readers who share that critique of the global economic order.
Why now: Frustration with capitalism as the root cause of overlapping global crises is resonating amid ongoing climate, health and political alarm.
