Case Against Cardinals Adding to 2027 Starting Rotation

Original: Why the Cardinals Shouldn’t Add to Their 2027 Starting Rotation ST. LOUIS, MO - MAY 29: Michael McGreevy #36 of the St.

St. Louis Cardinals fans and baseball commentators are debating whether the club should pursue starting pitching additions ahead of the 2027 season. The argument being made is that the team should stand pat on its rotation, with young arms such as Michael McGreevy seen as reason enough to avoid outside additions. Discussion centers on how the Cardinals balance rebuilding with competing in the NL Central.

Why now: Fans are weighing the Cardinals' rotation plans for 2027 as the team evaluates young pitchers like McGreevy.
