August Hanning, who once headed Germany's BND foreign intelligence agency, has been arrested on suspicion of espionage, the federal prosecutor's office announced on Tuesday. The case is drawing attention because of Hanning's seniority in German intelligence, and reports have linked the affair to Ukraine and Russia, though details of the allegations remain limited.
