Students and teachers protest across France

Original: For once another topic but it is important. Soutien total aux lycéens et professeurs qui manifestent partout en France a

High school students and teachers are holding demonstrations across France, drawing expressions of public support online. One widely shared message backs the protesters outright and quotes the revolutionary politician Danton: 'After bread, education is the first need of the people.' The marches are being framed as a defence of education and linked by participants to broader human rights concerns.

Why now: People are expressing solidarity as students and teachers mobilise nationwide over education conditions.
