Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan faces execution

Original: nidal malik hasan

Nidal Malik Hasan, the former US Army major behind the 2009 Fort Hood shooting that killed 13 people, is facing execution by firing squad. German outlet BILD reports the 56-year-old could be put to death at a military base, renewing attention to the long-running case, which has been delayed for years by legal proceedings and appeals.

Why now: Reports that his long-delayed execution may be imminent have put the Fort Hood shooter back in the headlines.
