Why We Made Our Drone Open Source
Drone maker OpenDrone, together with well-known FPV pilot Joshua Bardwell, has released its drone as open source, publishing the design and software for anyone to inspect, modify and build on. The move is drawing strong attention from the FPV and maker communities, who see it as a push for transparency and repairability in a market usually dominated by closed, proprietary systems.
Why now: The open-source release is resonating with hobbyists and developers interested in customizable, transparent drone hardware and software.
