Alcaraz stunned in Shanghai, world number one spot slips away
Original: alcaraz
Carlos Alcaraz has been knocked out in the third round of the Shanghai Masters, losing to Belgium's Zizou Bergs in straight sets. The defeat ends his winning streak after his recent title in Tokyo, where he beat Lehecka to confirm his return to form, and means Alexander Zverev will overtake him as world number one. Fans are debating whether fatigue from a long Asian swing caught up with him.
Why now: Alcaraz's shock defeat to Zizou Bergs costs him the world number one ranking, right after his Tokyo title.
