UNHCR gives update on Sudanese arrivals in Chad
Original: UNHCR CORE Emergency Situation in Chad - Update on arrivals from Sudan (05 Oct. 2026)
UNHCR has issued an update on the CORE emergency situation in Chad, covering new arrivals from Sudan as of 5 October 2026. Hundreds of thousands of people have crossed into Chad since fighting erupted in Sudan, straining camps and host communities in the east. Aid agencies continue to call for increased funding and international support to meet basic needs in the border regions.
Why now: Ongoing displacement from the Sudan conflict keeps the humanitarian situation in Chad in the news
