Miquel Oliver to stay as Manacor mayor while pursuing Consell bid

Original: alcalde

Miquel Oliver will remain mayor of Manacor, Mallorca, but will reduce his duties in the town hall to focus on his candidacy for the Consell de Mallorca, Forbes España reports. The move keeps him in the mayor's office while he campaigns for the island-level institution, prompting questions about how he will balance both roles.

Why now: His decision to juggle the mayoralty with an island council candidacy is new political news in the Balearics.
